Container Hooks

Container-Hook-Right-Red-and-Left-Yellow.jpg

Container lifting hooks are designed specifically for the lifting purposes of containers. Container lifting hooks are supplied with an angled lug, configured for both left and right. The Container Lifting Lugs lock into the Corner Castings of shipping containers containers. The large hole at the top is perfect to accept shackles or hooks.

Yellow is for the left side of the containers while red is for the right side. The colours make it easier to distinguish between left and right. When installed correctly, container hooks lock at a 45 degree angle.

Ideally, container hooks are to be used in conjunction with a spreader bar.

Working Load Limit (WLL) = 27,500lbs.

Design factor 4:1.

DO NOT EXCEED WORKING LOAD LIMIT

Chain Slings

SGG.jpg

Grade 100 Lifting Chains are custom made to order. Each chain sling comes with a steel identification tag with the date of manufacture, Reach of chain sling, the type of chain as shown below, the Working Load Limit, angle of lift, date of annual inspection, and an identification number unique to that chain sling.

We custom make single leg, double leg, 3 and even 4 leg chain slings.  To determine what chain will work best for your application call our sales desk.  They will be happy to fit you with the proper chain for your lifting needs.

We also inspect and certify your existing chain slings.

S-421 Terminator     Wedge Socket

S421 Wedge Socket.jpg
  • Wedge sockets have an efficiency rating of 80% based off the catalog strength of the wire rope.

  • Meets or exceeds ALL requirements of ASME B30.26 including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load, and temperature requirements.

  • Basket is cast steel and individually magnetic particle tested.

  • The pin diameter and jaw opening allow this socket to be used in conjunction with closed swaged and spelter sockets.

  • The wedge design allows the dead end of the wire rope to be more secured thus greatly reduces the loss of the wedge.

  • The design of the wedge eliminates the need for a small piece of wire rope.

  • Incorporates Crosby's patented QUIC-CHECK® "Go" and "No-Go" feature into the wedge.

  • The proper wire rope diameter is determined by:

  1. The wire rope should pass through the "GO" hole in the wedge.

  2. The wire rope should NOT pass through the "No-Go" hole in the wedge.

  • Utilizes the standard Crosby Red-U-Bolt® wire rope clip (G450).

  • Available in sizes from 3/8" to 1-1/4" (9mm to 32mm).

Tie-Down Chains and Binders

Grade 70 Tie-down chains are used primarily for load securement in the mobile crane industry. Most commonly used to secure loads of steel rebar, or to secure crane counterweights during transport.

Tiedown chain.jpg
  • NOT to be used for overhead lifting.

  • Gold Dichromate finish.

  • Made from heated treated carbon steel.

  • G7 or G70 Embossed on chain links.

  • Peerless Gr.70 Chain has a Working Load Limit (WLL) embossed every 9 links.

  • Resists wear due to its exceptional hardness properties.

Load Binders

The two most common types of load binders are lever or ratchet.

Lever binders are less expensive than ratchet binders, are more compact, and are faster to operate. Lever binders do require a fair bit of force to tension the tie-down chains. These binder also have a risk of "kick-back" or release which can cause injury.

Ratchet binders are easier and safer to operate and provide a much higher mechanical advantage than lever binders. Advantages of a ratchet binder is precise tensioning. Ratchet binders makes tensioning easier on the user as less force is required to tension the tie-down chains.  Ratchet binders also won't kick back like lever style can.
